Yay, it's Monday!

It's become a troupe to ask people if they, "Have a case of the Mondays?" whenever someone is dragging or in a bad mood in the beginning of the week. I suppose in a culture where it's more unusual to like your job rather than hate it, Monday feels like a weekly slap in the face.

I don't see it this way at all.

For me, my mission to live a life on the upward spiral is built upon finding new ways to create and sustain helpful habits that support a life of growth, healing, and transformation. The foundation of this is in what I do everyday.

And I know that one of the tricks to starting a new habit (or establishing an old one) is in the power of the fresh start.

There are big fresh starts like New Year's or your birthday. There are seasonal ones like the start of a new school year. But there are also ones that come around more often, like the beginning of the month or a new moon.

But Mondays are your weekly invitation to a fresh start.

This is why I love Mondays, and especially Monday mornings. It give s me a chance to set one or two things in motion that could help carry me through the rest of the week. Even if they don't, like say I forget to make my bed one day or miss my almost daily yoga practice, I get a chance to learn from those experiences and approach it from another way next week. Or maybe I realize that's not what I want or need to be focusing on and the next Monday I decide to take it off my list.

What do you want to bring into this week's fresh start? What would you love to initiate next week?

Of course, this "fresh start" is arbitrary, but habits experts agree that the power of the fresh start can provide extra motivation where we need it. Use that to your advantage to make the changes you want in your life.
