Can't Keep Consistent Habits? Try this.

Have you ever started out strong with a new habit only to fall off a few days or weeks after?

I want you to know this is normal.

One of the biggest struggles that people find in making healthy habits is in being consistent.

In fact, studies show that most of the time that radical change does happen in someone life, it’s accompanied by something major like a move, a child being born, the start of a new job, or the start of a new school year.

Katy Milkman write all about this in her book, Making Change. She goes on to explain the power of fresh starts. Fresh starts can be as big as those listed above but they can also be small.

I've written before of the glory of a new water bottle to revise my goal of daily hydration.

I also love Mondays for this reason. But you know what's even better than a Monday? The first of the month!

That’s coming up quickly on Wednesday.

So I'd love to know, what change would you like to implement in February? Is there something you tried out last month that you'd like to stick to? Leave me a comment and let me know.

If you want to start a new habit but aren't sure you can stick with it, join me in the Upward Spiral Club this month.

Together, we’ll use the power of fresh starts each week combined with accountability to help you stick to what keep you on your upward spiral.
