Hey, what happened?

At the beginning of this year, I began the 2022 Writing Challenge. I wanted to see what happened if I wrote and posted a blog everyday for a year.

I successfully made it over 6 months of posting every day. But then, this summer, I started to falter. I went out of town and that got me out of the habit. Then after I returned, a lot was happening in my personal life and writing every day became too much.

So you know what I did?

I let it go.

As much as I love being consistent and on a streak with something, I've learned that what's more important than maintaining it is being easy on yourself when you don't.

It's a balance of both motivating yourself to keep going and knowing when it's time to stop. Stopping doesn't mean you've failed. In fact, pausing is when you get to look back at what you have done.

The past few months I've been working on simplifying my life. Experimenting with what I do enjoy, learning to let go of what I don't. Since 2020, my life has changed dramatically and having time to take stock feels right.

But I did want to drop back in here and share what happened. : )

When are times that you've chosen to, or been forced to, take a pause?

When you've looked back on your life what have you been able to notice about how for you've come?
